For New Breeders

I am happy to provide dogs for breeding with full AKC rights for an additional $250 over the advertised pet prices.  The pet prices are for dogs with limited AKC rights.  Just indicate to me that you want full rights and I am happy to do so.  Full rights are for dogs that are to be bred or shown.

I have been breeding since 2017 and have greatly appreciated those who have helped me along the way.  I am happy to help you and answer any questions you may have.  i am a state licensed kennel in PA, as well as having undergone an AKC inspection.  I am happy to help with those processes as well as all aspects of breeding from the medical, to the legal, to the day to day.  Having a scientific and business background, I bring a lifetime of experience that has helped me to build a kennel business that is both efficient and good for the animals.

I will work with you to find both breeding stock from my kennel and to locate other breeders that will give you the best start possible for your kennel.  Its always best to start with AKC dogs.  All puppy families want to know they are getting pure-bred dogs with AKC papers.  If you are going to do the work, you may as well be able to sell the puppies for the best prices by having the papers to go with them.   CKC or unpapered may be a little cheaper up front, but you will lose on each of your puppies and it will cost you a lot down the road.

Setting up your kennel space and cleaning procedures is vital.  At some point you may need to get licensed and it will be absolutely necessary to have things in place from the beginning to make that process go smoothly and to save you money down the road.  Having to tear everything out and do it over again just makes no sense.  Let me talk to you about it as you start so you can do it right from the beginning to make it healthy for your dogs and as easy as possible for you to take care of.

There are many breeds of dogs out there.  A friend early o told me, "If you are going to raise animals, you have to raise what you love."  You are going to live with them for many years.  Pick what you love, but also make sure they are marketable.  If you pick a breed that is unknown and nobody buys your puppies, well, you know the result.

You have to be able to sell your puppies.  Having a good marketing plan is the foundation of success.  I am happy to tell you about mine.  All my puppies sell.  I am careful about my pricing and selective where I market the puppies.  There are reasons for everything I do, and I am happy to share those reasons with you.

Taxes, budgets, financials, legal paperwork.  This is the hard stuff.  What type of business do you want legally?  How do you handle taxes?  What about sales tax?  Contracts and receipts?  The paperwork is at least as important as the dogs themselves.  You have to do it right.  Please ask about it.  This is a business and needs to be treated as carefully as any other business or you can be hurt legally and financially, Severely hurt!
